Maryland woman was cited for driving to slowly last Friday. She should know: walk left, stand right. Or blame it on the rain. According to citation, she had been driving 63 mph in a 65 mph zone — but in the left lane. Read the full article

The Culinary Helm & Heart behind Capitol Hill Staple Ted’s BULLETIN  Ted’s BULLETIN: never heard of it, go now. Worried they won’t have something you like? Stop it, just go now. You don’t like leaving downtown for the Hill for lunch? Shut up already, will you please just go now! It’s not just the 1950s diner/malt-shop inspired motif that makes you feel comfortable. In fact, more often than not this border line “cliché” feeling can turn off some diners. But not here, not at Ted’s BULLETIN, and not with Chef Eric Brannon manning the helm. Overseeing the culinary aspect of Ted’s since its opening, Chef Eric believes in quality product – as evidenced by the housemade pop-tarts, pastries, burgers, and malts they are known for – but also quality service. Treating the lobbyist in a suit ordering a grilled rib-eye the exact same as the Eastern Market-dwelling mom and her two kids (stroller in tote and all) ordering milkshakes and sugar-coma inducing homemade pop-tarts, Chef Eric believes everyone should feel comfortable here. Ted’s BULLETIN is proof that one can pull off a theme-inspired restaurant if there is heart behind the meatloaf and black and white movies broadcast in the back room. Thankfully Chef Eric was able to make time in his schedule to pull up a chair and chat about why he loves Ted’s, what his food philosophy is, and an exclusive, sneak peak at what’s next in store for the popular matchboxfoodgroup.

Last night we kicked it over to 201 Bar where John Stanton crushed BuzzFeed Brews by opening the night with Hunger Games and Sen. Gillibrand. Props to the staffer that had the Senator give Stanton a bottle of Jameson. And props to Stanton for TAKING SHOTS with a U.S. Senator. …

Roll Call’s Meredith Shiner went behind the scenes of the members-only Senate gym to give us an insider look. What she found was mostly sweat and one of the few congenial places left on the hill. We’re hoping for a follow-up with the preferred playlists and lift number of each member. Behind the …

From bit to bite, last night’s Commedia Dell Media was a mix of nerdy DC humor, self-deprecation and journo on journo crime as everyone took a jab or two. In other words, it was a good time for a good cause and after a few warm up drinks… er rounds, the …

Meet Brian Johnson, aka the Hungry Lobbyist. Johnson runs the popular food and lifestyle blog, The Hungry Lobbyist, where you can read about the sequester while browsing for the perfect power lunch spot. FamousDC is also lucky enough to have him write a bi-weekly column, Feasting Famously, where he interviews folks around the District about their favorite meals, what they cook and the weirdest things in their fridge. With a site redesign and several new content areas, we thought it was prime time to introduce you to the Hungry Lobbyist.
