Thanks to the talented and energetic crew over at NJI Media, we hit the refresh button on FamousDC today.
The new look and feel account for our visitor’s favorite features, including infographics, photos, videos and the always popular “Famous 5” interviews. We also reinvented the “weekend picks” to create an interactive experience, giving readers the best possible list of what to do and where to do it every weekend.
Since the debut of FamousDC in 2007, we’ve had millions of visitors from the Washington area and beyond.
From K Street to King Street, East Falls Church to Eastern Market, we started FamousDC to track the real movers and shakers of the beltway. Our goal five years ago was to create a site that would consistently get the inside scoop on the folks behind the scenes. These are the people who can predict the opening act at Black Cat on a Tuesday, staffers who hold after-hours meetings at Cap Lounge and those who know or work for the panelists on Meet the Press. We’re happy to say that FamousDC is doing all of this and more – and we’re growing.
In addition to the site’s redesign, FamousDC has hired Morgan Gress as the site’s first full-time editor. With the help of our deep roster of contributors, Morgan will be responsible for keeping the site’s content focused and fun.
FamousDC contributors have always been comprised of a group of current and former Capitol Hill, Administration, and K Street staffers. The kicker? Most contributors are still anonymous. Few people know who all the contributors are (and they are sworn to secrecy). The mystery adds to FamousDC’s appeal, and we hope it will continue driving conversations inside the Beltway.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for the tips. And thank you for playing along.
We’re damn proud of our new look and hope you enjoy it for years to come.
