New job. New Twitter handle. Just want to announce a change in my Twitter handle and my new role working in sales & marketing with Boylan Soda! boylanbottling.com — Chris Taylor (@SodaPopTaylor) April 22, 2013 Be sure to congratulate Chris on the new gig if you have a moment today.

After years of floating around in unshaven solitude, Mr. Vieson is finally getting his day in the sun.  Hill Climbers: Cantor’s Floor Director Keeps a Low-Key Profile Believe it or not, the guy who painstakingly helps negotiate the House’s daily agenda is hardly the hobnobbing busybody one might expect. “I wouldn’t consider myself an outgoing people-person,” Chris Vieson, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s new floor operations director, said in a recent interview. “I never planned on being here or doing this, but I guess once I got here I was hooked.”

And then one time a reporter walked straight into a private fundraiser. Once again, you can’t trust interns with the guest list. Though the event was private, Hotline On Call was admitted without being asked for identification. In her remarks, Colbert Busch focused largely on bringing jobs to the district and using …

FamousDC headed out to Taste of the South this past Saturday and we have to give it up to the organizers this year. Going strong for 31 years, Taste of the South didn’t fail to disappoint with another great spread of food, drinks and all the dancing you could want.

Congrats to Lia Seremetis on her new gig at The Raben Group. After a stint at NAMIC Lia is making the jump over to the agency side where we’re sure she’ll do good things. But don’t worry, she’ll still be running DC Bike Party and writing for us like a boss. P.S. …

Happy birthday to Robin’s husband and Natalie’s father: Josh Shultz! If you have a moment today, wish FamousDC co-founder Josh Shultz a Happy Birthday! –The FDC Team

As told by Howard Mortman Oh, the fettucine alfredo. Oh, the Rigatoni in a slightly spicy tomato sauce. Oh, the Ninth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which you can’t eat so we won’t bold. It was a rare joint outing for Mr. and Mrs. Extreme as we celebrated the marriage of Craig Crawford and David Blank, a history-making event that broke down all the traditional walls of American weddings by doing what was once unthinkable but now seems to nothing short of the “in” thing: That’s right, they served garlic. Years ago and even last week, this might have been met with conventional civilization’s shudder and shrieks and a few egads; but now, isn’t everyone everywhere rushing to announce press release-backed support for serving of garlic at a wedding reception?

If you have a moment, be sure to tell Raffi Williams congrats on the new gig at the RNC. At 24 he’s one of DC’s youngest movers and shakers. Buzzfeed even published an article about him without a meme so you know he’s one to take seriously: WASHINGTON — A …

If you haven’t wished Matt Lira a happy birthday yet, you’re doing it wrong. Here’s to hoping the new Deputy Executive Director at the NRSC enjoys his 27th year of life.

Today is World Water Day, a day where people all over the world tell lawmakers, corporate leaders, philanthropists, social innovators, non-profits and regular ol’ Joes to step-up to help solve the global water crisis. Our friends at WASH Advocates   sent us a Top 10 List to coincide with World …

That’s right, not only does reading CQ Roll Call make you smart, but now they are helping you get back to school so you can be your boss’s boss’s boss this time next year. So head over to CQ Roll Call’s Graduate School Fair on Thursday right near Union Station …

When you represent big names like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and eBay on the Hill, your launch party is definitely going to attract a cast of characters. The Internet Association (IA) pulled out all the stops for their much anticipated party at Capitale last Thursday, successfully bridging the gap between policy wonks, trendsetters, and the rising DC tech scene. Politico’s Mike Allen, Queen-Bee Heather Podesta, The Pink Line Project’s Philippa Hughes, a few of the BYT cast, and a few rouge Hill interns chewed the fat (actually, the sushi) with MOC’s and CEO’s like Rep. Paulson, Rep. Upton, and IA’s own Michael Beckerman. Rep. Judy Chu was also spotted tagging on the virtual “graffiti wall.”
