Awesome events: This weekend is looking like a 12/10 – the road closures and traffic inconveniences, however, are not; You can thank the weirdos that consider a 26.2 mile run a good time; We’re not knocking health and fitness; We’re just trying to save up some energy so we can make it all the way to the land of Oz; Speaking of exercise, have you ever laughed so hard you got abs? Us either, but we’re hopeful; In the meantime, the only 6-pack we can get our hands on comes is beer – and there will be lots at Ireland on the Wharf; Don’t let the St. Paddy’s celebration stop there – DC’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Sunday!

Congratulations to Ed O’Keefe, who after 13 years at The Washington Post, is joining CBS News full time as an on-air political correspondent; Also at CBS, White House producer Jillian Hughes has a new role as a producer for the hit show “Face The Nation.”  This week, S&P Global announced updates to its Government Affairs team as part of a coordinated effort to expand global business development efforts: Darlene Rosenkoetter has a new role as Global Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP). Reporting to Rosenkoetter is a team of regional leaders including: Jackie Gulley, Head of GAPP North America, David Henry Doyle, Head of GAPP for EMEA, and John Phipps, Head of GAPP for Latin America and Asia Pacific. In addition to this new role, Jackie Gulley will continue to handle DC communications for the company; The New York Times has named Patrick Healy, most recently deputy culture editor, as its new political editor; Also at the Times, Elizabeth Williamson has a new role as a feature writer focused on Washington and the Trump administration; From Foreign Policy magazine, Jenna McLaughlin is making moves to CNN as a reporter covering national security; After a year working on CNN’s “New Day,” Veronica Bautista has moved to D.C. as a producer for Brianna Keilar; The Daily Beast’s senior news editor Ben Collins is making moves to NBC News and will contribute to all platforms; Also joining NBC from The Daily Beast is senior reporter and researcher Brandy Zadrozny, Zadrozny will focus on “people, their politics, and the tech that shapes our lives”; From First Look Media, executive creative director Phil Delbourgo is joining Vox Media as vice president of design; CNN has named Washington Post opinion columnist Catherine Rampell as a political commentator; Politico’s director of video operations Matt Sobocinski is leaving the outlet after a decade to join Gannett as senior video producer; Faith Vander Voort has a new role as deputy press secretary to Secretary Ryan Zinke. Voort makes the move from the Hill, where she most recently was press secretary and digital director for Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and digital advisor to the Republican Study Committee; The office of Sen.
