Awesome events: Is it December or something? Either way, we’re sippin’ on hot chocolate and cozying on up next to the fire – Winterfest at Wunder Garten begins in like 2 hours!; Ok so first dates aren’t your favorite, but what about if it’s for a good cause? Check out the DC Date Auction that’s fighting against childhood cancer; It’s time for The Wharf Christmas tree to shine. Kick off the holiday season tonight at DC’s new fave spot; Come for the tree and stay for the Holiday Boat Parade; And if dreidels and latkes are more your thing, we present you with “the most important pop-up bar of the year, nay, in history, the amazing “Chai-vy and Cohen-y” Hanukkah Bar” which kicks off tonight!; Get your steps in at Old Town’s annual Scottish Christmas Walk Parade (and see lots of dogs along the way); Stay for yet another Holiday Boat Parade while you’re at it; The first Sunday of every month is Free Community Day at National Museum of Women in the Arts.
From Alisha: Check out Brief Assembly pop-up near Union Market; I can’t wait for Solid State Books pop-up to open up on H Street. In the meantime, they’ve set up a really cute holiday pop-up shop you can check out; I haven’t been to a museum in so long, but Vermeer exhibit at the National Gallery of Art makes me want to visit soon; Because it’s the winter, it might be a great time to stock up on some lively greens in your home from Little Leaf Shop!; Take Care Shop is a new shop in Georgetown that has a ton of well-curated personal care items available; Once you’re back home, watch “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” on Amazon Prime — it’s by the same director who created Gilmore Girls, so it’s got the wit, the charm, and the super-fast-paced dialogue; And then read “Little Fires Everywhere” by Celeste Ng, which we’re reading for the Girls’ Night In Book Club this winter, or choose from our list of favorite new books for fall across every genre.

Flashback Friday: FamousDC presents a look back at Blunt Force and the team that set the standard for sports greatness in Washington, D.C. just over ten years ago.

Need a Christmas tree? There’s a map for that; Just don’t do this when you take it home; Here are the top 100 baby names of 2017 (spoiler alert: Donald and Vladimir are not on there); Meet the man (and to lots, hero) who deactivated Trump’s Twitter account; This mom dressed her baby up while she was napping and if you don’t think these pictures are adorable, you have no soul.
From Alisha: My top picks for DC restaurants: Red Hen (Step 1: Get their ricotta cavatellie. Step 2: Be very, very pleased), The Dabney (the coziest vibes in D.C., an always-changing seasonal menu, and delicious food) and Bresca (This is a new spot that just opened up and I was so impressed with their food and service. Sit at the bar and share the duck roast with a friend — it’s totally worth the price, and the duck fat beignets are to die for. They also have a super cute cocktail called The Bee’s Knees that comes in a literal bee-shaped cocktail glass, for all you Instagram-happy readers out there.)
