FAMOUS FORECAST
It’s a chilly morning in D.C. with overcast skies and temperatures only at 51 right now but moving into the low 60’s later in the day. We knew those 80 degree temps weren’t going to last!
TUESDAY JAM
Brought to you by Tazewell Jones of Bryant Row
Ask any Phish fan (and there’s a lot of us in Washington) to name their favorite holidays of the year and they’ll likely tell you Halloween and New Year’s Eve, both for reasons relating to the historic jam band’s longstanding tradition of playing particularly epic concerts on these nights.
Last night was no exception, and indeed a great example of the point. Phish revived a yearly tradition: donning a “musical costume” for Halloween, in this case in celebration of the late great David Bowie and his eternal rock opera The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
Today’s Song of the Day is for the Phish fans, the Bowie fans and every fan who appreciates inventive and awesomely bizarre artistic expression.
