The world lost a musical legend last night, as we learned of George Martin’s death from a tweet by Beatles drummer, Ringo Starr. Martin, nicknamed the “Fifth Beatle” was a Grammy award-winning record producer and was responsible for a great deal of the magic behind the group’s sound. He revolutionized rock and roll by employing string quartettes and classical compositions in unexpected ways. As a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a Knight of the Queen, may he rest in peace after a life well-lived. The following track, In My Life, was one of dozens of hit songs produced by Martin.
