An Animated Portrait of Obama’s Last Year in Office
It’s no secret – President Obama’s days are numbered… at least in terms of days he has left in the Oval Office. When a successor is named and it is time for Obama to depart, he’ll undoubtedly hope to be remembered by his impressive legacy of accomplishments (and he will happily list all of these for you). But as fate would have it, he has recently inherited another opportunity to make a major impact during his reign as president.
As is now common knowledge, a valued member of the Supreme Court, Justice Antonin Scalia passed away last week at the age of 79. After hardly pausing to pay their respects, politicos across the country immediately jumped into action, and argument of what would happen next. Traditionally, it would go without saying that the sitting President appoints a new Justice. Republicans have a different idea:
