If you didn’t sweat through your suit jacket, it was a good day
It’s been a long week; our hearts go out to Sen. Kirk’s office; The $4.95 lobbyist; DC crime, and so forth; that time Congress helped make smoking look sexy; Sorry babes (of the Bad News variety); Apparently we’re really into the World Cup; Who has a better mugshot than this guy? we know you do; taking DC’s license plate slogan one step further; all segways in DC should look like this; “One Direction reject Prince Phillip shows up eventually” we reviewed Maleficent; #unsuckDCmetro; goodbye young DC folk; Bethesda is un-BEAR-able; DC vs. Chicago on ice; Emails?; Things were made this week; was it 103 in DC? really?; this Vox headline though; we kind of can’t take the name “ISIS” seriously, but then again look at this Twitter strategy; and here’s where you can kick it this weekend.
And now for the MEDIA MOVES, thanks to @StoryPartners; Local FOX affiliate @fox5newsdc welcomes @RickBooneNews as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Boone comes from just up 1-95 in Baltimore where he was a reporter for FOX affiliate WBFF. Long time national TV contributor and nationally syndicated radio host @MonicaCrowley expands her resume, named online opinion editor at the @WashTimes. A few weeks after announcing six new hires and a 50% increase in readership, the @nationaljournal unveils its new look print magazine. First issue with the new design will be in three weeks. Seems like the @washingtonpost is adding new employees every week….@Slarimer leaves Grantland to join the paper’s general assignment desk, while Coleen O’Lear moves into her new role as digital producer. Jay Carney (@PressSec) officially handed over the reins Thursday. Josh Earnest takes over what some consider the toughest job in town. Looks like Carney will not only be updating his business card, but his Twitter handle too. Best of luck!
