ThirstDC knows how to throw a party with a good, diverse crowd. You’re always bound to run into someone you know and meet someone new – just the kind of event you want to attend and last night was no different. Kicking the evening off with a talk about weather (and who doesn’t love to talk about the weather), Thirst’s speakers didn’t dissappoint. We went from hurricanes to the moon to becoming innovation experts all in just a few (maybe too many) beers.
For those of you who don’t know, we’ve always been fans of Thirst – the not-so-stuffy version of mini-Ted Talks in DC. Drink and have a good converstation or listen to what one of any of the fascinating and well-prepped speakers have to say. You really can’t go wrong. Now in the middle of their second year, the ThirstDC team keeps getting better and better. Flipping learning on its head, they pull together a great group of speakers so people actually want to learn by mixing it up. Its co-founder, Eric Shulze, kicked off the evening by telling everyone to avoid that famously overused question “where do you work?” – now that’s when you know you’re not at a typical DC event.
ThirstDC is bringing back the sexy nerd so be sure to check back in for their next learn and drink event. Visit their website here.
