It’s the weekend DC and I’ve got all your events lined up here, including how you can celebrate Earth Day! There is a ton of stuff going on so don’t miss any of it! Enjoy!

Thursday

Ben & Jerry’s – want to sample the ice cream duo’s new Greek Frozen Yogurt? Easy! Tweet @benjerrystruck with your location today through May 11th and you may get your wish!

A Tasting of Beers from the Carolinas – this event was made for me, and thanks to my buddy Sean, I remembered to include it! Head to the Dupont or Georgetown locations of Pizzeria Paradiso for this sampling of Carolina beer. My fave, Sexual Chocolate. Yummies.

Alice Smith – you may have seen my recent article on my good friend Erik Deutsch who will be performing with this talented DC native at the newly refurbished, historic Howard Theater. Be sure to check it out – jazz and funk at its best!

Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds – check out this Brooklyn-based band tonight at The Hamilton. Aside from the venue always being a good time, this nine-piece ensemble will knock your socks off with their modern spin on classic soul. #hotness

Dirty Bar – pop by 1223 Connecticut Ave NW – the same location as Dirty Martini, and check out the brand new “Deck at Dirty Bar.” Grey Goose Cherry Noir will be on hand with samplings of their new liquor and I have heard that dancers and body-painted models will be on hand to make the scene look more intriguing. Everyone loves a bare skin party.

Friday

Allen Stone – I first heard of this artist from my friend and music guru, Tom Meyer, and was immediately impressed. Catch him at Sweetgreen from 1-4pm for free and at the Warner Theater later in the evening. He is a do-not-miss!

Sunset to Midnight – for nearly eight weeks this spring, internationally renowned artist Doug Aitken will illuminate the entire facade of the Hirshhorn building, transforming it into “liquid architecture” and an urban soundscape. Using eleven high-definition video projectors, Aitken will blend imagery to envelop the Museum’s exterior, creating a work that redefines cinematic space.

Entreprelooza:Unlocking the Future – if you are interested in being an entrepreneur or maybe have already made strides at becoming one, stop by this martini mixer benefiting the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) at L2 Lounge. There is sure to be plenty of people watching.

Art Soiree’s Night of Music – for $40 you can enjoy music and hors d’oeuvres at The Washington Club. Art Soiree always throws a snazzy affair.

57th Annual Corcoran Ball – if you prefer a black tie moment this weekend, head to this annual event celebrating NEXT at the Corcoran: Class of 2012. $150 gets you all the music and dancing you can handle plus a three-course meal.

Saturday

Walk MS 2012 – this annual walk that benefits the National MS Society brings out those dedicated to finding a cure for multiple sclerosis. Walk is from 8:30am-12pm and registration details can be found here.

Dance in the Circle – I love a good “circle” party and Dupont has some of the best. From 3-9pm you can do all the dancing you want with no judgment or cost.

Sunday – Earth Day!

Earth Day 2012 – from 11am-7pm, you can spend the day on the National Mall celebrating Earth Day and its 2012 motto, “Mobilize the Earth.” Over one billion people support Earth Day around the globe so join in and enjoy the fun! Performers include Cheap Trick and Dave Mason and there will be all kinds of activities going on.

Jazz on Jefferson – while at Earth Day, you can walk over to the Jefferson Memorial for this jazz event from 12-7:30pm. Free.

A Graduate Symposium on Creativity with Annie Leibovitz – yes, you read that right, Ms. Leibovitz will be in DC for a gallery talk. The event is sold out (no shocker here) but you can still stalk her outside. I kid, sorta.

Fourth Annual Cochon – for $125 you can enjoy this culinary competition and tasting at the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel that promotes sustainable farming of heritage breed pigs. Yeah, you heard me – pigs. What can I say – I was born in pork country so this immediately stirred my interest.

Monday

Charity in Chocolate:A Delicious Fashion Show – chocolate and fashion? Sold. Hosted by the Heart of America (HOA) Foundation at the gorgeous National Building Museum, $110 gets you entry into the event and includes chocolate tasting stations, open bar, silent and live auctions. Fundraiser benefits HOA’s Books from the Heart.
