Famous 5: DC Pool Party

Need to cool off from the sweltering DC heat? Take a dip in one of my picks for the area’s best hotel pools. Whether searching for a party or a bit of serenity, I’ve got everything you need here.

Capitol Skyline – 2 weekend parties make this *the* hotel to be at during the summer for pool fun. And, with a 20,000 square foot pool deck, you can’t miss it!

On Saturdays from 11am-9pm, the people behind Eighteenth Street Lounge (ESL) and Marvin bring you “Dubsplash” – a $15 party with some of our favorite local DJs, margaritas, rum punch and food trucks. Think ESL on a Saturday night but with a pool. #Win

Starting this Sunday (6/26), it’s the grand (re)opening of “Adult Swim” – a weekly party featuring a BBQ brunch, summer cocktails and my buddy DJ Moh Ducis on decks from 11am-6pm. Ladies get in free until 1pm.

Donovan Hotel – on Sundays, head to the Donovan rooftop for “Happy Sundays,” a 12-4pm party that includes bottle service and a full bar. Guest list can be accessed through the ADC facebook page.

Liaison Capitol Hill – typically a hotspot for weeknight rooftop revelry, this hotel has an urban chic setting for their rooftop pool. Poolside menu available from 12pm-10pm. AND, if you want to stop by during the week, check out DJ Adrian Loving’s “Electric Relaxation” party on Thursday nights and the “Liquid Sunsets” party on Friday nights, hosted by DJs Boris Gluck and Michael Hammond.

Hilton Embassy Row – this rooftop pool serves up great views of DC, including the embassies that line Massachusetts Avenue. Poolside menu available for adults and children alike.

Washington Plaza Hotel – this outdoor pool is nestled in a lush, green setting, located at Thomas Circle. Ideal for relaxing while enjoying al fresco dining.
