FamousDC Famous 5: DC Zoning Commissioner & Capitol Hill resident, Greg Selfridge
1. What does the DC Zoning Commission do?
The DC Zoning Commission is responsible for preparing, adopting, and subsequently amending the zoning regulations and the zoning map. In large part we consider amendments to the zoning regulations at the request of the Office of Planning, an individual land owner or an ANC. Currently, there is a comprehensive rewrite of the DC zoning regulations underway and we spend a lot of time considering changes to the text of the zoning regulations. Mayor Gray is responsible for appointing the three District of Columbia representatives on the Commission
2. How long have you lived in DC? Where do you and family call home?
I was born in the Washington region and have lived in the District of Columbia for over 15 years. My wife and I are blessed with a 3-year old daughter and we live and work on Capitol Hill.
3. What websites are the best to follow for DC residents to learn about their community & these issues?

David Alpert has put together a great group of contributors and the site has a large and well informed following. In my neighborhood I like TheHillisHome. And Lydia DePillis writes Housing Complex for the Washington City Paper and which covers real estate and development issues. She can be a provocative reporter and really frames the issues within the larger context.
4. Do you think the Nats will ever win the World Series?
I grew up rooting for all Washington, DC sports team. You have to be an optimist…
