Yesterday, Gov. Sarah Palin decided to use her “phone a friend” lifeline and called fellow conservative, and current “View” host, Elizabeth Hasselbeck to ask her if she’d make some appearances with her this weekend.

“Governor Palin asked me to be with her this Sunday to introduce her at the rallies in Florida and I am more than honored to be there,” Hasselbeck said. “So I will be flying there to travel with her and meet some pretty interesting people, I have a feeling. So that’s an honor, I am excited to do it, and I’ll have some stories on Monday.”

But if you feel this move is a little suspect, you’re not alone.   Below the jump, the real reason the Palin campaign panicked and called Hasselbeck.

FDC can report the real reason Palin begged Hasselbeck to come Florida has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with fashion.

If you remember, Hasselbeck used to be the host for a television show on the Style Network called “Look for Less,”  and will be advising the Palin campaign as to how keep Sarah’s wardrobe budget under $150,000.

A tough job, but one the former beauty pageant judge is clearly cut out for.
