FAMOUS FORECAST

This Autumn weather is absolutely fabulous with temps only getting into the low 80’s today, but don’t get too used to these conditions because the heat is back in action tomorrow.

FRIDAY JAM

Brought to you by Tazewell Jones of Bryant Row

In the long and winding history of American music legends, today is not like any other day. It’s the 20th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s tragic passing. Today, we remember Tupac for pioneering a hip hop sound that brought stories from the streets to the suburbs, and in the process awoke an entire nation’s sociopolitical consciousness to pervasive harsh realities of life that for too many Americans remain too common even today.

Tupac once wrote that, “Nobody raised me; I was raised by this society,” and today that statement may epitomize his legacy – a quintessential metaphor for our collective obligation to construct a society in which we look out for one another, address injustice and inequities, and work hard to avoid repeated tragedies. And as he wrote in today’s Song of the Day, “It’s time for us people to start making some changes.”
