Well, no — D.C. was initially made to unite the colonies in a symbol of American freedom. But now, 226 years later, it’s made for Instagram.

There are some incredible ‘grammers documenting the colorful and vibrant world of the District, with follower counts jumping into the tens of thousands. They all use the hashtag #IGDC, and take beautiful photos of all of our favorite landmarks and D.C. sites. If you’re looking for more people to follow, these are your best bets.
