Phileas Fogg may have traveled around the world in 80 days, but we traveled around the DMV in 80 seconds. Sound impossible? We thought so too. That was, of course, until we discovered the Capital Wheel.

Located at the National Harbor, this giant wheel is a site to see before the summer is over. This wheel gives participants a birds-eye view of just about the whole DMV. Not only do you get a gorgeous view of the National Harbor to the left of you, but if you look to your right you’ll see everything DC has to offer- especially the Washington Monument!

The views are only one of the main attractions. Riders get to enjoy a gondola all to themselves (unless you decide to bring some friends and family along) that comes with great music and even better air conditioning, which is just about the most important aspect when you’re visiting on a hot summer day.

Just in case you’re still not convinced that the Capital Wheel is a must see, head over to our Snapchat Channel (@thefamousdc) and get a sneak peek of what goes down while you’re on your way up.
