Are you looking for something fun to do this lovely Tuesday night? Well, look no further than the VIP advance screening of “Can We Take a Joke,” a thought-provoking documentary that explains our culture through stand-up comedy. The film, which will premiere at the Newseum, features notable comedians such as Gilbert Gottfried, Penn Jillette, Lisa Lampanelli, and Adam Carolla, all of whom exchange ideas on the stifling impact that comedy has on our nation.
Enjoy a welcome reception with drinks provided by Flying Dog Brewery from 6:30-8:00pm, followed by the screening of “Can We Take a Joke?” from 8:00-9:30pm. After the film wraps up at around 9:30pm, the audience is invited to talk with directors Ted & Courtney Balaker, ACLU-NCA’s Scott Michelman, FIRE’s Greg Lukianoff, and comedians Gilbert Gottfried and Karith Foster.
In case you are unable to attend tonight, look for “Can We Take a Joke?” in select theaters on July 29, and digitally on August 2.
