Participating 7-Eleven‘s around the U.S. will be giving out free slurpees today, 7/11, from 11am to 7pm in celebration of the chain’s 89th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the Slurpee.

That’s right, the Slurpee can officially join AARP, even though 7-Eleven employees will insist that your drink is no more than a few seconds old.

So get to your local 7-Eleven and bring a hat with you to help with that freeze brain because this special is only running while supplies last. The free Slurpee flavors include Sour Patch Redberry and a brand new Fanta Birthday Cake flavor in honor of this golden anniversary.

Because this is an extra-special milestone in this frozen sugar water’s life, 7-Eleven is offering a special promotion through their mobile app and 7Rewards program. If you buy seven Slurpees between July 12 and 18 (and haven’t gone into diabetic shock), you’ll get another chance to do so with a coupon for eleven free Slurpees.
