In honor of National Fudge Day, let’s do some brief fact checking, why don’t we?
QUOTE 1:
“It’s the largest winery on the East Coast.” – Donald Trump on his winery in Virginia
FACT CHECK:
Donald doesn’t even actually own the winery. To top it off, it’s not even the biggest winery in Virginia, with three others churning out more wine every month. FALSE.
QUOTE 2:
“I think if we were to just go around this room, there are a lot of immigrant stories. All my grandparents, you know, came over here.” – Hillary Clinton
FACT CHECK:
Three out of four of Hillary’s grandparents were born in the United States…so, yeah, this is pretty wrong.
QUOTE 3:
“Joseph Stalin said, ‘If you want to bring America down, you have to undermine three things: our spiritual life, our patriotism and our morality.’ We, the people, can stop that decline.” – Ben Carson
FACT CHECK:
Stalin didn’t say this, according to every history book ever. Who said it? We don’t know, and neither does Ben Carson.
QUOTE 4:
“[Ted Cruz’s] father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald being, you know, shot. I mean the whole thing is ridiculous. What is this, right, prior to his being shot? And nobody even brings it up.” – Donald Trump
FACT CHECK:
This is just extremely, incredibly wrong.
Here’s to fudging the facts!
