THURSDAY JAM
Brought to you by Brian Johnson, founder of HungryLobbyist.com.
My Throwback Thursday jam is Wu Tang Clan’s “Da Mystery of Chessboxin” from their 1993 album 36 Chambers. When Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Salt-n-Peppa and the one-hit-wonder Snow were killing it with songs we all still remember, here comes this album that sounds like raw NWA met melodic raps with a raw beat Dre would never mix. One of my favorite lines is when OBD comes in after Method Man with “Here I go, deep type flow. Jacque Cousteau could never get this low…”, it just puts a smile on your face. This high school pre-game pump up song is still just as relevant now before you enter a meeting, as it was before you went on the field. Maybe Hillary should listen to this before she has to face The Donald!
