The Surreal McCoys are playing at Blind Whino, a hip new venue and art space in SW DC, this Friday May 1 to celebrate the launch of their new album The Howl and Growl. The event will benefit a local DC charity.

The band sent us a super secret recording sampler of their new album, which you can preview here. Hear how high-energy rock and roll this band is from those tracks? They’re perfect to listen to while drinking a couple beers and supporting the DC based Guitars Not Gun Violence charity.

You’ll also get to see the very cool Batalá Washington, a 35-piece, all-female Brazilian percussion band (and Funk Parade favorite!) who will open the event. The event will also include music-themed art installation by local artists.
