The National Press Foundation Annual Awards Dinner is just a few weeks away. We have our tickets – do you?
WHEN:
Wednesday, February 18, 2015
WHERE:
Washington Hilton Hotel
1919 Connecticut Ave. NW
Washington, D.C.
The NPF is recognizing journalistic achievement at one of the largest media dinners in Washington. This year, awards will go to journalists at traditional outlets like ABC News, CNN and USA Today as well as digital-focused media companies like Buzzfeed News, KrebsOnSecurity and Re/code.
The air will be rarefied. The NPF is bringing together 1,000 journalists, media, public relations and corporate executives, policy makers, and trade groups. This is the only illustrious media event you don’t need to be a member of the media or NPF to attend. You may even catch one of FamousDC’s own, Amos Snead, who is on the NPF board and co-chairs the dinner committee this year.
That’s not to mention that those in attendance also support NPF’s cause – to increase journalists’ knowledge of complex issues in order to improve public understanding. The dinner provides NPF’s largest source of unrestricted revenue. By helping to defray costs, a ticket ensures that NPF reaches more journalists each year through its no-cost training programs.
We’re not mind readers, but we know that if you didn’t have tickets before you started reading this, you definitely want them now.
