How many D.C. success stories start with “it started as a small ____ (insert: event, group, organization) and now we’ve grown into a massive _____ (insert: firm, restaurant, events company). The same can be said for Beast Feast.
Once a small backyard gathering with a few of Ben Cassidy’s family and closest friends, Beast Feast is now a staple on the DC summer calendar. Last Saturday at Biergarten Haus on H St. Corridor, Ben and his crew kicked off the July 4th recess with strong drinks, #fixins, pig piñatas and ENTIRE ROASTED HOGS in the name of charity and good times at Beast Feast VII: All Hogs Go to Heaven. The event packed the awesome back patio with slews of locals complete with the giant steins of beer we’ve grown to love (and sometimes hate) from Biergarten.
It’s all for a good cause, too. Proceeds from this event go to the non-profit SOME: So Others May Eat, a community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless in Washington DC. Missed it? Don’t worry, this BBQ is just gonna be better next summer!
