To help celebrate Twitters 6th birthday, the Edelman Digital team released an interesting report that evaluates effective use of Twitter by Members of the U.S. Congress: Capitol Tweets: Yeas and Nays of the Congressional Twitterverse

The report analyzed Twitter data from 89 U.S. Senators and 367 U.S. Representatives across a 112-day period from September-December 2011.  In total, the data set included almost 60,000 tweets sent by Members of Congress and 1,312,861 mentions of Members’ official Twitter handles.
