I’m not an NBA fan usually. Having grown up in North Carolina and being an alumni of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I get my court kicks through college b-ball, preferably my beloved Heels (who won last night!). But when FamousDC was invited to the Wizards-Raptors game last night, even I jumped at the opportunity to support DC’s pro team.
Let’s face it – we all know the Wizards’ performance has been less than stellar, but last night’s win against the Raptors (93-78) was solid. It may not have been the most exciting game but there were two dunks in the 2nd quarter by Jan Vesely and JaVale McGee, followed by a third by the limber Vesely in the final quarter. Yes I do get a kick out of a good dunk – made my night, and the crowd’s.
The best part of the game – aside from my fab friends Justin, Molly and Renee that joined – was being in the Verizon Center which has plenty of food and brew options for your enjoyment. I do have some tips for Wizards owner Ted Leonsis, who was spotted in the crowd – keep the music loud, consider returning to the blue uniforms (sorry, not a fan of the new!), allow for more cheerleader dances (love the Wizard girls costumes!) and get those boys to play hard!
Show your support for our Wizards and get to a game soon!
