Thursday
Phillips After 5 – from 5-8:30pm, enjoy jazz, gallery talks, the amazing Degas exhibit and a cash bar for $12 at the Phillip Collection.
Kennedy Center Millennium Stage – drop by the Kennedy Center at 6pm for a free performance by the Stooges Brass Band.
Science Club – stop by anytime after 9pm for One Love Massive’s party featuring old school hip hop tracks and electro bass all night long.
Friday
Irish Whiskey Public House – located in the same building as the former Porter’s Dining Saloon, the owners of Irish Whiskey (friends Reese Gardner, Mike Knapp and Sam Harper, who also own The Mighty Pint) have rebuilt the space from the ground-up and will be offering 50 brands of Irish whiskey and over 80 beer selections, a world-class bar menu, and a members-only whiskey club. Stop by after work for the opening night party and get a first-hand glimpse of the amazing space.
Phantom Fridays at Opera Lounge – DJ Tektronics will be making his first appearance on decks in honor of his birthday celebration. For free entry before 11:30pm, sign up on the Opera website.
PRVLG Friday – drop by the Rosebar at Current Lounge for this party that includes DJs Dynamix, Nugen and Sicarii on decks. Free admission before midnight if you RSVP with my buddy, Ezra Quassim – [email protected].
Saturday
2nd Annual Wild-Card Chili Cook-Off – interested in helping a charity that benefits our brave men and women in the Armed Forces? Have a strong love for chili and sports? Then stop by Union Pub at 4pm for this awesome event that benefits the Warrior Gateway and vote on your favorite chili and enjoy the second NFL playoff game. $10 at the door.
Elvis’ Birthday Fight Club – commemorate the King’s birthday at 8pm with staged fighting and burlesque performances at the Warehouse Theater. $15 pre-pay tickets here or $20 at the door.
Bayou – watch the Saints take on the Lions at 8pm at this New Orleans-inspired eatery. Specials include New Orleans bar fare, $15 Bud buckets, $20 Abita buckets. Bonus: live performance featuring Jackass Flats post-game.
Kreamdip – want to dance? Head over to Josephine to see the Dynamic Duo, Omar Karim and Steve DiPietro on decks. I can promise it will be a good time.
Sunday
Samuel Beckett’s One-Year Anniversary Party – the luck of the Irish continues this weekend with another Irish party in Shirlington Village. Head down to Samuel Beckett’s anytime from 7pm-close to celebrate its anniversary with yummy Irish beers and nibbles.
Monday
Restaurant Week – starting on Monday through January 15th, participating DC bars and restaurants will be offering restaurant week menus. Grab your rezzies now as they fill up fast!
