12th Annual Smith Point Christmas Party – head to the watering hole that frequently made the Bush daughters party circuit during their time in DC. Party includes $1 drinks from 10pm-close and $2 hot rum apple cider and $5 rail shots from midnight-close.
Benoit and Sergio – this D.C./Berlin DJ duo is a rising force on the house music scene, with a standout single on DFA Records. Check them out at U Street Music Hall.
Pietasters and the Slackers – if you were like me and listened to ska in the late-’90s, you should remember these bands which will be highlighted at the 9:30 Club.
Saturday
Downtown Holiday Market – head to 8th and F Streets NW between noon-8pm for all your favorite holiday market treats!
Snow Day Party – ‘tis the season for bar crawls which seem to happen every weekend in DC this month. This party features $2.50 beers, $3 rail drinks and $4 shots at six bars between Farragut Square and Dupont Circle. Start at the Front Page or BlackFinn at 1pm, and you’ll get deals until 8pm at the Madhatter, the Mighty Pint, the 19th or Bread and Brew.
Santarchy – if you’re in the mood for a jolly ruckus, head to the National Mall around 1pm for this event that includes several hundred nondenominational Santa suit-clad merrymakers roaming the city singing naughty renditions of holiday tunes. Follow @SantarchyDC on Twitter to find the exact starting point.
DJ Chicus – this electro, reggae, soul DJ will be headlining at Eighteenth Street Lounge.
Yellow Dubmarine – this eight-man reggae ensemble plays the entire “Abbey Dub” – a tribute to the Beatles at the State Theatre.

Monday (yes, I’m extending your weekend fun)
Scott Weiland – the Stone Temple Pilots singer is doing a Christmas show?! Yeah, I too had to do a double take. Check him out at the 930 Club – it could either be the most bizarre thing you’ve seen or a masterpiece. Either way, I’m intrigued.
Rustico – hosting their annual Festivus celebration of seasonal beers has expanded to two parties over two nights at two locations. Monday’s event in Ballston features the Bruery’s Four Calling Birds on cask and draft and the New Holland Cabin Fever, among others. Tuesday’s event in Alexandria features 12 more beers to try.
