1. In this day in age it seems that everyone is a fashion expert to some extent. What sets you apart from just being a guy with good taste and being an actual Fashion Stylist?
I don’t think of myself as just a guy with impeccable taste or just another fashion stylist, I like to think of myself as artistic individual with fashion style being my passion & focus. I do much more than just pick out clothes for people. I am involved in just about every aspect of the fashion industry; from fashion show production to analyzing sketches with designers. Anybody can give their opinion on fashion & be considered a “fashion stylist” I consider what I do “spreading the fashion gospel!”
2. When I think of Fashion Stylist I automatically think “expensive!” What is your clientele like? Can the average Jane like me hire you without breaking the bank?
I am very reasonable as far as fashion styling services. I started out working with everyday Jane’s & have graduated to working with the higher end Josephine’s (LOL). My rates are for every pocketbook.
3. What are your best tips for people who don’t want to spend a lot on clothing but haven’t really gotten into the whole “thrifting” movement?
Thrifting takes A LOT of time & patience. If you don’t have either, I say keep your eye out on your favorite department stores & when their sales are. Another tip that I have found to be helpful is that stores like Target have fashion forward clothing at a VERY low price.
4. What is your take on people who buy knock off’s?
Designers work so hard on their creations. Having someone take all of that effort just to turn around and sell it for at a fraction of the quality and price is ridiculous. Knock off’s are a HUGE No Bueno in my book!
5. Fashion and music go hand in hand. What are 5 CD’s that would tell the story of MDP?
Lenny Kravitz “5”
Mary J. Blige “My Life”
Snoop Doggy Dogg “Doggy Style”
Mary Mary “Incredible”
Maxwell “Urban Hang Suite”
