2009 was the year when DC nightlife centered around being high and outside – you got it, the rooftop.  New hot spots started popping up all around town while the oldies were improved. The summer continues this rooftop fetish and the parties have already started. It was hard to only choose five, but here’s the list of venues, in no particular order, that never let me down.

So go, drink, enjoy – DC has a lot to offer as the temperatures soar and the rooftop is undoubtedly where it’s at.

Honorable Mentions: Current Lounge, Public Bar, Beacon Bar & Grill, Perry’s, Local 16, Lauriol Plaza, Cava Mezze, Clarendon Ballroom, and a venue many forget about – the Space.

UPDATE: We just chatted with our favorite radio personality, Tommy McFly of Mix 107.3, and his favorite roof top bar is the POV Lounge at the W Hotel. Matter of fact, McFly said he would “go there every day” if he could.
