As Republican presidential contenders scramble to fill positions [and figure out whether or not they should run], the Obama campaign has already settled on their Digital Director. Teddy Goff will lead the online efforts for Obama’s re-elect.
Landing Goff is a huge get for the Obama campaign. [Tech President]
Teddy Goff will lead the digital efforts of the 2012 Obama campaign, says a campaign source, confirming chatter that has been floating around in online politics circles.
Goff’s title with Obama ’12 will be Digital Director, says the campaign. The position mirrors what in 2008 was considered a new media director role, but this time around the campaign is shying away from the “new media” terminology and embracing “digital” as an umbrella term. The new media director from 2008, Joe Rospars, is back for another cycle, but in the role of Chief Digital Strategist, as we’ve previously reported. Michael Slaby, another ’08 vet, has been named Chief Integration and Innovation Officer, charged with making sure that every aspect of the campaign is making use of digital technologies.
Goff has been serving as Associate Vice President for Strategy in the New York City office of Blue State Digital.
