Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!” ~Robin Williams
With those first blooms of the Cherry Blossoms, DC’s somber mood from the cold winter is lifted. The days grow longer and everyone yearns to be outside soaking up the glorious sun. So where should you go post-work to celebrate? That’s easy. Here’s my top five choices for spring happy hours at DC’s newest bars. Although some have been opened for a few months, their patios scream spring!
My personal favorite! A NYC lower east side-esque, no frills bar with an industrial decor, beers served in mason jars, yummy barbecue and a large patio.
The latest upscale-casual bar in Courthouse that offers good beer and wine lists and an American-classic menu.
Although it’s not entirely new, this bar features a huge outdoor beer garden and dozens of German beers. Yay Oktoberfest year round!
A new sports bar in Petworth that has plenty of screens, a beer garden and awesome specials.
Located in the former Garden District store at 14th and S streets NW, Standard offers seasonal brews and a small barbeque menu.
Oldies but goodies for those lovely spring afternoons: Beacon Bar and Grill, CavaMezze, Clarendon Ballroom, Cleveland Park Bar & Grill, Donovan Rooftop, Lauriol Plaza, Local 16, Marvin, Poste, POV, Public Bar, Reef
Happy sippin’,
