Our third favorite day of the year. [heel yeah!]

Just think of it as the fashion event of the year! Every year on the Tuesday before Halloween, the drag queens take over 17th Street (between Church and R streets) for the Dupont High Heel Race. The actual race takes less than five minutes, so the real fun is to be had beforehand (schmoozing with the runners while the sashay and/or prep) and afterward (bars, obvy). Our tip for max classiness: Hit up the CVS for Halloween candy. You can share with the drag queens… or stuff your face. Either way, it’s a good time. Race 9 p.m.; free.
