FamousDC Nightlife Correspondent @BlairDC brings us the Famous 5: Best Afternoon Hill Hang Out Spots
It’s Friday. It’s sunny out. And you are able to take off early from work. What to do?
Here’s my top five venues for a chill but celebratory end-of-the-week afternoon…and some honorable mentions since we all know I love extra options!
1. Cantina Marina – Reggae, cold beers, mini corn dogs all by the Potomac with an impressive view of the Washington Monument. What more could you want?
2. Fado’s Irish Pub – Being Irish, I had to name a pub! Fado’s is known as being the friendliest in the city and an all-around good time.
3. Lauriol Plaza – Tried and true favorite for rooftop Coronas and yummy Mexican – and within walking distance to fun bars/restaurants in Dupont/Adams Morgan for later.
4. Ceiba – $5 signature cocktails and reduced price appetizers from 3-6pm. Believe me when I say their food and drink are amazing.
5. Wonderland – A true dive bar and in a spot you can feel “hidden” in. Need I say more?
Special Mention: Jazz in the Garden at the National Gallery of Art – It may only occur on Fridays but this is a special event each week through the summer. Go early, grab a spot by the fountain or on the grass and sip sangria amidst a background of jazz .
Honorable Mentions: Chi Cha Lounge, Tony & Joe’s, Mighty Pint, Brasserie Beck, Againn, Molly Malone’s, Sine, Liberty Tavern, Spider Kelly’s, Mackey’s, Union Pub.
FamousDC thanks Nightlife Correspondent @BlairDC for her top 5 list.
