Summer brings an excitement for the outdoors and mingling, and what better way to unwind after a long day at work than to meet friends for happy hour. Here are some of the tried and true happy hours in DC for your summertime get-togethers.
Brasserie Beck – Half-priced drafts from 5pm-7pm every day of the week and from 10:30pm to closing Thursday-Saturday with half-priced oysters; half-priced wine bottles on Tuesday nights.
Poste – From 4pm-7pm every Monday through Friday, enjoy $5 red and white wine selections, $5 beer selections, and their famous truffled frites for just $5 in a wonderful outdoor patio in the heart of downtown.
Oya – From 4pm-8pm every Monday through Friday, get one “bite” + one cocktail for $9. Note: Oya has terrific sushi.
Oyamel – From 4:30pm-6:30pm Sunday through Friday, enjoy $4 classic margaritas, ponches and selected draft beer; 2 for $4 taco specials; half off all wines by the glass (available at the bar only). Note: Chef Jose Andres delights the palette with yummy entrees and the restaurant was featured in the show Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.
Vinoteca – 20 wines on special at $5 every night of the week and a summer garden opening in June!
