Move over, Busboys and Poets. The White House East Room is now the hottest poetry spot in town.
"The Obamas will host a poetry slam in the East Room of the WH tonight complete with James Earl Jones, spoken word, jazz music, and presumably a few awkward silences."
Hotline’s Last Call (and us, of course) were left out of tonight’s slam…an event that promises to rival only Bob Saget in its ironic hipness.
Fortunately, the good people at National Journal have provided an outlet for the rest of us to vent our poetic frustration at being left out of yet another A-List event .
Submit your Haikus, and maybe you’ll be lucky enough to be published.
Here’s our submission:
James Earl Jones to host
Real Darth Vader in the House
Cheney not needed
Don’t miss out. It’s worth it.
