Yesterday afternoon we received this email:

"An unconfirmed report on LNS says someone in the House gym caught a staph infection and the gym is not saying anything about it.  I called the gym and they said they’re "looking into it".

Because we’re not in the business of staph [or staff] infection speculation, we held on off – until now…

If you weren’t totally convinced that the House Gym was a great place to get a good workout, you certainly won’t be now.  According to POLITICO, our tipster was correct. [staph infection central]

A member of the House gym has been diagnosed with MRSA — a much-feared, antibiotic-resistant bacteria — and the facility has been scrubbed to eliminate the possibility that anyone will become infected.

For those of you who didn’t watch much Doogie Howser, MD growing up, staph infections are no joke. [violent]
