Over the weekend the Obama’s got their new puppy. The WaPo had the exclusive, although TMZ tends to think they broke the story.  [stay classy]

The White House had offered The Washington Post a "puppy exclusive" when the time came, according to The Washington Post! But last Friday, we got all the details.

Below are the details TMZ "broke" before the WaPo ran the exclusive: [damn, they’re good]

1. According to sources the new pet was to be a dog.
2. TMZ reported it was a Portuguese Water Dog
3. The First Family reportedly was going to name the dog.  [although TMZ had no idea what the name would be]
4. The dog supposedly came from a kennel and was birthed by another dog.
