Apparently members of Congress watch a lot of HGTV, because according to reports, they want to spend $200 million on the National Mall’s “curb appeal.”  $21 million of which would be spent on new sod.

Surprisingly, this doesn’t make Republican lawmakers happy.  Matter of fact, Rep. John Boehner, the highest ranking Republican gardener, is so piping mad, he fired up a petition asking for volunteers to come out and sod the mall for free.  Doing so would apparently save taxpayers nearly $20 million.  [can they divide the $20 million by the number of people that help sod?]

We’re told these guys are not looking to sign the petition.
