It took 1100 words, but Hollywood heavyweight Michael Moore finally made his point … and has decided to endorse Barack Obama – an endorsement that all of the land had been waiting for. [it’s about time, son]
Whew.
“What we are witnessing is not just a candidate but a profound, massive public movement for change,” Moore writes. “My endorsement is more for Obama The Movement than it is for Obama the candidate.”
During his 1100 word rant, the filmmaker wasn’t exactly kind to Obama’s primary opponent – going as far as calling her “disgusting,” a frankly odd choice of words coming from such a well-respected and well-kept individual.
“Over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting,” he writes, saying that she has tried to “smear” Obama – “Like you were nuts. Like you were a bigot stoking the fires of stupidity.”
Oh, but Moore didn’t stop there though – he also decided to use some of his 1100 words to poop on the rest of the Democrat Party.
Moore says he is disappointed with the Democratic Party, too, for failing to end the war despite public outcry and for “do(ing) the bidding of the corporate elite in this country. Any endorsement of a Democrat must be done with this acknowledgment …”
While I do enjoy the occasional opinion of Hollywood legends such as Moore – I’d rather listen to his endorsement on where to find the best All You Can Eat Buffet, rather than who I should vote for in the next Presidential election.
But that’s just me.
