Weekend Picks: Spooky Fun

I’ve never seen this band live but you can never go wrong with a show at the Black Cat. It’s a sold out show but I’m sure there will be scalpers. Check it out!

Head down to Little Miss Whiskey‘s Golden Dollar and check out this Day of the Dead party featuring US Royalty DJs. No cover but costumes encouraged.

If you are at all like me, you take your Halloween costumes seriously. And, when I’m in a bind – ie, slacking on the shopping – I always hit Backstage for last minute costume finds; Target for cheap Halloween accessories; and Michael’s for fun DIY ideas.

Always a great time, these guys will be performing at the Fillmore in Silver Spring. The show promises lots of bluegrass grooves. Be sure to don a costume! OR, go early and check out the 8pm Zombie Walk in Silver Spring.

If you’d rather stay local for your zombie fun, check out this event at the Fairgrounds. 6pm; $20.

you may not be signed up for the annual race (if you are, kudos and good luck!), but that doesn’t mean you can’t join in on the fun. Cheer on a friend or just head down to the race to check out the booths. But, make you sure you grab a coffee because it starts early!

Head down to Biergarten Haus for the Redskins vs. Steelers game and get your fill of pig! Yum – there’s nothing like football and swine. Enjoy!
