Being from NC, I have to give props to this Raleigh, NC-based songstress who I first saw perform at a friend’s wedding. Jeanne is an uber-talented lady who gives a whole new meaning to NC soul/pop. Check her out at Corner Store Arts (900 South Carolina Ave SE) at 8pm.

My friend Chris Boerner, who visited DC several months ago with his band The Hot at Nights, will be performing with Jeanne.

Have you heard about DC’s latest dance venue? If not, you do not want to miss the grand opening this weekend. From what my sources tell me, the venue is going to be HOT.

The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden kicks off their season of ice skating with free hot chocolate with all skate rentals. Don your best sweater and get in on the fun!

Go cheer on your favorite DC blonde or brunette at this annual powder puff game benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. Always a good time, pack a picnic and arrive early to see the kick-off at 1pm.

It’s that time again for all you gents to sport a hot mustache in honor of Movember – a movement during the month of November that raises awareness for prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. And while you’re at it, head to Ballston for this crawl featuring bars like Union Jacks, Front Page, World of Beer and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Head down to the historic Washington Club for an elegant and fun black tie gala benefiting Courtney’s House, Global Centurion and Urban Light to support their work fighting human trafficking and modern-day slavery. There will be a silent auction and band for dancing. 8pm-1am
