FamousDC friend, well-respected DC communicator and skilled photographer Christopher Gindlesperger – known to friends, colleagues and reporters as Gindy – had one of his photos recently selected for publication by National Geographic.

The special edition hardcover coffee table book was put together in partnership with The National Cherry Blossom Festival in honor of the 100th anniversary celebration taking place now.  You can pick up a copy of the book online, or at National Geographic HQ (17th and M St, NW) and other retailers around DC.  Gindy’s work is on page 190.

We got a sneak peak of the photo:

And the photo below was for the same set that he did the good folks at Cherry Blossom Yoga during last year’s festival.  It won an honorable mention in the 2011 FotoDC Cherry Blossom Photo Contest and will be on display at the Edison Place Gallery starting tomorrow

Keep an eye out for his next collaboration – and expect a gallery show of Gindy’s photos in the early Fall.

Go jump on Twitter and tell him congrats: @NotNotGindy
