Was just asked by two guys how to get to the building in which we were all standing.

If this ever happens again, tell them that the building they’re looking for is two doors down. Then when they return, after figuring out that you were wrong – open the door, greet them and act as if you’ve never seen them before. Trust us, it makes for an amazing awkward moment.
