Virginia Foxx Trots An Employee Right Out the Door

Virginia Foxx, who’s been known for inserting the occasional foot in the mouth , does not have patience for employees who follow in her footsteps.

Proof: Her scheduler recently posted this message via her gmail status, “Office beers. on taxpayer time. you’re welcome, fightin 5th district.” [honest and transparent]

Officially response: [not via gmail status]

“We are looking into this matter to figure out what happened. Once we’ve established the facts, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.”

As for those disciplinary actions: [this was sent around via gmail - yesterday]

Scheduler — Congresswoman seeks a Scheduler for fast-paced DC office. Responsibilities include managing Member schedule, driving Member to events, and serving as office manager. Ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communications skills, a positive attitude, an outgoing personality and a strong work ethic. We hear that the employee was let go, not because she was drinking beer, but because she only updated her gmail status and ignored both Facebook and Twitter — that and her poor use of capitalization.
