Capitol Hill Circus: Democrats Hire Speed Reader. Bearded Lady Booked Till June.

We’re pretty used to hearing about the ridiculous antics coming out of Capitol Hill, but this is a little much.  [hooked on phonics]

Democrats in the House Energy and Commerce Committee have taken a novel step to head off Republican efforts to slow action this week on a sweeping climate bill: Hiring a speed reader.

The speed reader, who specializes in Harry Potter books and the Congressional Record, was said to be hired just in case Republicans pass a motion that would force the bill to be read – because God forbid someone on Capitol Hill read the damn thing.

Speed readers and cucumber sandwiches . Who says Congress isn’t fun?
