Joe Barton Doesn’t Do Cucumber Sandwiches

While Democrats and Republicans continue to knock heads over Cap and Trade legislation, it seems the only progress they’ve made today came a few minutes ago when they decided to break for dinner.
According to a tipster, Democrats, who control the purse strings, informed Republican members and staff that they would provide dinner and pick up the tab.
One small problem … Republicans weren’t terribly pleased when the food showed up.
On the menu: Cucumber sandwiches.
Joe Barton, who’s not exactly into greening his diet, was apparently not pleased about the joke and has retaliated by ordering Popeye’s chicken for everyone – Democrats included.

Waxman’s a loser. Who decides to waist taxpayers’ money to play a dumb practical joke. It might have been only a couple hundred dollars, but with someone pathetic enough to believe that’s a good idea, who knows how else our money will be spent?
