Wanda Sykes: “Rush Limbaugh Was the 20th Hijacker But He Was Just So Strung Out on Oxycontin he Missed his Flight”

Posted on 09. May, 2009 by in Entertainment, Front Page, News, Politics

Comedian Wanda Sykes, who headlined the #nerdprom [WHCD] tonight, took a few vicious jabs at conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh:

Via POLITICO: "You’ve had your fair share of critics. … Rush Limbaugh said this administration fails. … He just wants the country to fail. To me that’s treason. He’s not saying anything different than what Osama Bin Laden is saying. You might want to look into this, sir, because I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker but he was just so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight. … Rush Limbaugh, I hope the country fails, I hope his kidneys fail, how about that? He needs a good waterboarding, that’s what he needs."

This comment will likely dominate the right-leaning blogs starting … now

Typical liberal clap trap … go directly to the personal attack, and she get lauds for it.

Her comments about Limbaugh and Palin were disgusting.

yea Tom but its fine for your buddy Rushbo to say he hopes Obama’s policies fail. And of course in the process take America down

If only liberals went off every time conservatives said something inflammatory.

On second thought, Twitter doesn’t have that much bandwidth.

The hope that the marxist policies of Obama fail would help this country.
Rush has stated many times that he hopes the country succeeds, she didn’t even have the comment correct.
Hoping that Rush Limbaugh or anyone else dies, is tasteless and shows the kind of people that are running/ruining this country.
This is not Dem./Rep. it’s anti American.

How many years did we endure right-wing douchebags like Rush making “jokes” about AIDS? If you don’t think making fun of a horrible incurable disease is wishing death on someone, you are sadly mistaken. What goes around comes around… just get over yourselves.

I am sorry but it just says a great deal about what the right stands for when they will come out in solid support of an ADDICT!! I am willing to bet no one was up in arms when crackhead jokes were being made about Marion Berry!!! Rush dishes it out all the time now people are upset when he gets it back. Simple fix for this…give Rush and his listeners two Oxy for $75 and let them live it up for a few hours!!

I give Limbaugh a lot of leeway for being a drug addict .Because the mind is a terrible thing to waste.

I don’t think she was funny at all. I hope Limbaugh sues the pants off of her! She was disgusting. She’s saying he is a terrorist, and you think she’s funny?! That’s what’s wrong with our country today.

What about Kathy Griffin and Lisa Lampanelli? Both are very controversial comics who say what’s on their mind as well. Wanda is a talented comedienne not a reporter or a politician. She did what she’s been doing for the past 15 years…tell jokes and make people laugh. If the WHCA wanted serious commentary they would have chosen someone else. Overall I think this is being blown way out of proportion.

now that wanda has brought up his problems with rx drugs anybody who saw him a few weeks ago speaking to some republican conference could not help notice how this guy was acting nuts and jumping up and down could not stay still knows he is still using pain killers. i know of what i speak as i will celebrate 23 years sober on may 17th. i also know one of the rules of any 12 step program is never take anyones inventory and for that i am sorry but someone had to say it. thanks for taking the time to read this but i am so sick and tired of his outright lies on his radio show. ex in broadcasting network is almost as bad as fox networks we report you decide lie. steve in st. petersburg fl.

Question, Can no one in America take a joke anymore? This is completely ridiculous. I wonder if there was a change in the constitution that being funny is now a capital crime and that it could cost you your livelihood or worse- gasp-your individualism. People nowadays are just too dang sensitive and need to get over themselves. Jokes are supposed to be funny and if a person can not tell a joke, what is the use of comedy. I say, get over it!! it was not all that serious and I can tell you, she was very funny and just doing her job. If more people spoke what was on their minds instead of walking on egg shells, this country would be a better place and not so stuck on something as simple as a bunch of jokes.
