OK, so August is still here. If we aren’t on a CODEL, leading energy revolutions on the House floor, or back tracking on drilling proposals, what should we do with all of our free time?

We’ve decided to take this moment to investigate where DC get its daily conventional wisdom.

Last election cycle it was 100% the Note, but this cycle is Mike Allen’s game. His morning Playbook is a Washington must read. 

Drudge can still turn the media’s focus on a dime and everyone turns to HOH with their morning coffee. Blackberries always buzz around the Capitol when Nora files Wake Up Call and Last Call. Beltway news rooms follow every post on FishbowlDC, but nothing quite drives the day like President Allen’s morning Playbook.
