For those loyal FDC readers who couldn’t log on earlier today, we have someone you can blame for that – Danica Patrick and her a-hole business partners at GoDaddy.com.
In-between counting their money and fueling their corporate jets, the good folks at Blow Daddy decided that they’d give one of their servers the day off. Brilliant.
But instead of catching the error themselves, we had to alert them of the problem.
So after an endless adventure with the mental giants who service their tech support, Blow Daddy finally admitted they shit the bed, and eventually got the site back up and running.
As for their half-hearted apology, perhaps we might have accepted it, had it not been so half-hearted.
Here’s a thought for the Blow Daddy Execs: Instead of spending $3 million on Super Bowl ads and tossing countless dollar bills at an Indy Car driver who can’t win, how about you shuffle around a few bucks and buy a server that wasn’t built in the late 70s.

To those concerned,
First, please know that we appreciate that you have chosen Go Daddy as your service provider. Of course, we are never happy to learn of disrupted service, but as with any technology, there may be an outage from time to time. Our only hope is that these rare problems are identified and fixed as expeditiously as possible. Thankfully, Go Daddy is experienced at identifying and resolving server issues, and in this case, the outage which affected this site was discovered automatically and resolved in a very short time. Certainly, we apologize to the readers of Famous DC for the disruption, and we sincerely hope to avoid such problems in the future.
